Advantages and disadvantages of suspended interlocking flooring
Advantages
Simple, fast floating installation
No glue, no cement, no nails. Tiles connect by interlocking buckles. Construction period is short. It can be disassembled, moved and reused for temporary courts.

Excellent drainage performance
Hollow suspended structure leaves a gap between tiles and base ground. Rainwater flows out rapidly, no ponding. Usable immediately after rain, suitable for outdoor venues.
Good shock absorption & sports safety
Bottom supporting columns provide buffer effect. Reduce impact on athletes’ knees and ankles, lower sports injury risks. Meet basic multi-sport performance requirements.
Strong weather adaptability
Qualified outdoor-grade products use modified virgin PP with UV additives. Adapt to temperature from -40℃ to +70℃, resistant to sun, frost and rain.
Low requirements for base surface
Only need flat, solid concrete or asphalt. No complicated waterproof or leveling construction compared with acrylic or PU courts.
Easy daily maintenance
Waterproof and stain-resistant. Clean with water directly. No regular polishing or special curing treatment.
Environmentally friendly
Virgin PP material, non-toxic and odorless. Fully recyclable after service life. Safe for schools and kindergartens.
Flexible layout & rich colors
Multiple colors optional. Can splice patterns, logos and color zones. Matching edge strips and corners complete the whole venue.
Disadvantages
Comparatively weaker ball performance than professional PU/silicone PU courts
Ball bounce consistency is inferior to integral synthetic sports surfaces. Not recommended for top-level professional official competitions.
Visible tile seams
Clear splicing gaps exist. Dirt and sand may accumulate in gaps if not cleaned regularly.
Risk of arching if construction specifications are ignored
If expansion gaps are not reserved around the venue, thermal expansion in hot weather may cause tiles to arch upward.
Quality gap between different manufacturers
Low-cost products made of recycled PP fade easily, turn brittle under sunlight and have short service life. Clients need to select virgin PP outdoor-grade materials.
Slightly higher surface hardness than silicone PU
The surface is harder than elastic silicon PU. Long-time falling may lead to more skin abrasion compared with integral elastic courts.
Not suitable for heavy long-term static load
Long-term placement of heavy fixed equipment may cause local permanent deformation.
