Pre-Installation Preparation

1. Required Tools & Fasteners

Tools: Torque wrench, Allen wrench, electric screwdriver, level ruler, measuring tape, marker

Standard fasteners: Galvanized / stainless steel bolts, spring lock washers, flat washers (M8 / M10 commonly used)

Safety gear: Safety gloves, safety shoes

2. Pre-Check Work

Fully extend and lock the whole retractable grandstand. Confirm all tiers are securely locked, no sliding risk during installation.

Inspect front mounting beams of each tier: No deformation, crack, loose welding. Clean all mounting surfaces.

Sort folding seats, brackets and hardware; check seat hinge & flip mechanism works smoothly without jamming.

Important: Do NOT install seats when the grandstand is retracted.

Step-by-Step Installation Procedure

Step 1 Mark Positioning Lines

Follow construction drawing to mark seat center lines on front beam.

Standard seat center spacing: 450mm / 480mm / 500mm. Ensure uniform gaps, aligned horizontally across the whole row. Reserve space for aisle & armrest seats.

Step 2 Mount Seat Supporting Brackets

Place metal mounting brackets onto marked positions.

Thread bolts with washers through bracket and beam mounting holes.

Tighten bolts lightly first (finger tight), do not fully torque at this stage, keep brackets adjustable.

Adjust brackets horizontally with level ruler, make all brackets on one straight line.

Step 3 Install Folding Seat Units

Two mainstream installation types:

Type A: Tip-up plastic seat with integrated base

Lift the whole seat assembly and align mounting holes with pre-fixed brackets.

Insert bolts, fit lock washers.

Pre-tighten all fasteners along the row.

Type B: Separated seat shell + hinge base

Fix hinge base onto mounting bracket first.

Connect seat cushion & backrest to hinge shaft; install limit torsion spring.

Check automatic flip function: Seat can stay upright when occupied, automatically fold flat after load release.

Step 4 Overall Alignment & Final Torque

Check horizontal straightness of the entire row with level. Adjust bracket position if seats are skewed.

Tighten all bolts to specified torque evenly.

Install end caps, aisle armrests and partition seats at gangway locations.

Step 5 Functional Test

Manually flip every seat repeatedly ≥10 times:

No stuck, abnormal noise, swing.

Automatic folding action works reliably.

Push & shake each seat slightly to verify no loose mounting.

Slowly retract & extend the full retractable grandstand 2–3 cycles:

Confirm folded seats do not collide with upper tier frames, no scraping or interference between tiers.

Step 6 Final Inspection & Rectification

Recheck all bolt tightness; supplement missing washers.

Remove metal burrs; touch up scratched coating to prevent rust.

Clean plastic seat surfaces.

Critical Installation Notes & Safety Warnings

Anti-pinch clearance: Keep enough gap between folded seat and upper platform to avoid collision during retraction.

Fastener requirement: Outdoor projects must adopt 304 stainless steel bolts to resist corrosion. Lock washers are mandatory to prevent loosening from vibration.

Do not over-tighten bolts on plastic seat shells; excessive force will crack plastic bases.

If the grandstand is electric-driven, keep power OFF during all installation work.

Any seat interference after installation must be adjusted immediately; never operate the stand with stuck seats.
